Here are a few ways to make sure the contractor you hire is the best fit for the project.
What are the signs of a good contractor versus a bad contractor?

- They have a clean record and good reviews across the board
- Is responsive and punctual with getting back to you
- They listen to what’s going on with the project and what you’re looking to get done
- Contracts are always written up. Nothing is ever a verbal agreement.
- Estimates are clearly written out and broken down so you understand exactly what you’re paying for.
A Bad Contractor
- The contractor doesn’t have a license or refuses to show it to you.
- They don’t return calls, especially after you’ve hired them and they’re regularly late to the job.
- They work around permits, building codes, and permits putting your home and family at risk.
- They bad mouth other clients or workers regularly.
- There’s been documentation of lawsuits or other issues associated with their company.
- Something feels off or scammy about the company. The price is a little too good to be true compared to what other contractors are offering for the same service.
